We’re excited to announce that the first 12 Design Working Groups will be up and running in February 2026 as part of the Bluegum Health Transformation. The Design Working Groups are part of a plan to make sure new health tools, services, and systems are safe, easy to use, and meet real world needs. They bring together healthcare workers, patients, and experts from the 6 knowledge domains so everyone can have a voice in shaping the health system.

The concept of Design Working Groups have been shaped in the Digital Solutions Design Governance framework based on consultation with clinicians, patients, and partners across the health system. Feedback highlighted the importance of clear roles, teamwork, and including the views of people with real-life experience. These Design Working Groups will now begin to turn those ideas into practical advice and solutions that improve healthcare for Tasmanians.

The remaining 41 Design Working Groups will be set in a staggered process with 6-10 new groups set up each month until June 2026.

The first 12 Design Working Groups are:

    • End User Compute & Accessories
    • End of Life Care
    • Revenue & Billing
    • Mandatory & Performance Reporting
    • Food Services
    • Specimen Based Workflows
