Design Working Group Overview

Design decisions regarding the quantity, type, location, installation and configuration of computing devices and displays, keyboards and pointer devices including access methodologies.

Areas of focus include:

  • mobile devices (tablets, phones and specialised devices e.g. pagers and duress)
  • check-in kiosks
  • digital signage
  • mounts
  • cameras and microphones including dictation specific and speakers
  • label/ID band/tag printers including real-time location solution (RTLS) capabilities
  • barcode/radio frequency identification (RFID) scanners
  • document scanners
  • printers
  • digital medical equipment (DME) e.g. bedside continuous physiological monitoring, vital signs devices, infusion pumps, syringe drivers, patient-controlled analgesia (PCAs)/patient controlled epidural analgesia (PCEAs), ECG machines, smart beds, laryngoscopes, POC ultrasound.

DWG Establishment

The establishment of the first 12 Design Working Groups (DWGs) marks an important milestone in the Bluegum Health Transformation. Membership for these DWGs is close to finalisation, and initial members will meet with Design Facilitators for the first time in February 2026. This first session will support shared understanding, clarify scope, and set the foundations for collaborative design work ahead.
